This is comprising of :-
1.        Power Supply (PSU) normally a 12 dc supply
2.        12 volt Keypad
3.        12 volt dc Strike Lock
Strike Locks come in 2 forms.....
Fail-Safe (When the power is removed the lock opens) requires a constant 12v supply to keep the lock locked and removing the voltage unlocks the door.
Fail-Secure (When the power is removed the lock remains locked) requires no voltage to keep the lock locked and applying a voltage unlocks the door.

The 12 Psu  is fitted inside the building preferably above a ceiling or in a secure locked cupboard.

The PSU is powered off a 240v spur unit.

The existing lock Keeper for the door is removed and replaced with the 12 volt strike lock. Using the now internally fitted egress button to release the door from the inside.

The keypad is fitted outside the door at a convenient height as to allow ease of use to disabled and able bodied personnel

If this system is fitted it should be wired through a Fire Alarm  relay preferably using a Fail-Safe lock

Exit of the door is by depressing the handle, thereby moving the bolt from the electric strike
